A feature that can be accessed from any page skip navigation is used to jump over the menu links and go straight to the main content area of the page. You can find the skip navigation link by pressing tab and select it using enter.
We have implemented the use of “ALT” tags, or alternative text and “TITLE” tags for photography / images throughout our site. These tags provide a written description of the image for those who have images turned off in the browser. To turn the images off visit the settings section of your browser.
Google Chrome provides accessibility tools / extensions that can be added to their browser to enhance the user experience.
Our web team runs an accessibility checks and reports on PDF documents that are listed on our website. If you have any issues accessing any PDFs or other documents on our site please contact our web team.
Our website is constantly being updated with new content, new images and new links. Because our site is ever changing we have developed an internal biweekly ADA checklist that our web team uses to test our compliance. Our team strives to use minimal animation and video throughout our website but it is present on some of our pages – and occasionally our front page. All video content can be found on our West Shore Cafe’s YouTube channel and is closed captioned when applicable.
Accessibility and information regarding accessibility is very important to us. Our property features handicap parking, ramps to the outside patio for the restaurant, elevators to the dinning room and hotel. Our McKinney Mountain View king suite is wheelchair accessible room and provides elevator access, a flat walk-in shower and a lowered bed.
